The Author
Lucie Cousturier (1876-1925) was a French writer and painter. She and her husband, Edmond, were friends of many of the leading avant-garde artists of the day, including Georges Seurat and Maximilien Luce. She wrote books on Seurat, Paul Signac, Henri-Edmond Cross, and others, as well as exhibiting her own painting.
